FIRST DAY IN ALEXANDERS SCHOOL!

HELLO EVERYONE!
This is our first day in Alexanders school and we are all happy and well.
Yesterday, when we arrived at the airport, a bus was waiting for us and during the hour and a half trip to the school, one of the members of the staff gave us some useful information about the school, the activities and the social program.
As soon as we arrived at the school, we had what they called a “light meal”, which included pasta, baked potatoes, pizza, chips, brown bread, cheese, fruit and yoghourt. Then, we were taken to our rooms. The boys are in Fulmar house, and the girls in Heron house. Most rooms are two-bed dorms with a shared bathroom. Don’t worry mums, everything is clean and the food is good!
At 17’30 we had supper, which consisted of meat (beef or chicken), peas and carrots, gravy, rice, fruit and yoghourt. Children said they were not hungry, but they ate everything!!!
In the evening we had social activities. We learnt how to make jewellery, we played games with the pastoral staff and we enjoyed playing table tennis and snooker.
When we went back to the houses for register, we could drink a glass of milk and eat some biscuits. As you can see, we are not starving here!
As for insects, the only incidents we’ve had so far have been the sighting of a couple of spiders in the shower and the invasion of a mosquito the size of Manhattan in the girls’ house. Nothing to worry about.
Today, we got up early and we had a nice breakfast and now the students are taking their placement test (speaking, vocabulary, grammar, writing) and afterwards we have a half-an-hour break and more classes.
Everyone is really nice here, and our new English friends keep telling us that we brought good weather from Spain, because it has been raining for six straight weeks here!
See you soon. More news tomorrow!
